Alloy 42 is an iron-nickel controlled expansion alloy available from our stock in strip/coil form. EFINEA supplies this alloy in a range of thicknesses starting at 0.010″. Drawing and photo-etch quality coil starts at 0.0077″.
Alloy 42 is comprised of 41% nominal nickel with the balance iron and is also known by the following trademark names: Pernifer®42, CarTech®Glass Seal® 42.

Alloy 42 continues to be utilized today in applications due to its unique properties that match 1075 glass. Typical applications for Alloy 42 are for integrated circuit lead frames, electron gun components, enameled resistor ferrules and molds for composite parts.
